Trains

This virus has taken quite a toll on all of us, coming as it did during our busiest dog boarding season, leaving us all pale and exhausted...thank heavens it's over! The boys have been isolated since before Christmas, so it was finally time to get back out into civilization. We spent an hour or so in Grand Central the other day, watching trains come and go. Jack and Aidan were thrilled to see real trains up close (they haven't been on or near the subway yet...just don't know if I'm up to that challenge with 2-year olds), but they were transfixed when we visited the Holiday Train Show at the Transit Museum annex there. It really was an amazing display, from a tiny NYC to Santa's village in the North Pole, there were so many little details to see, and all the tiny animated buildings and figures just added to the fun. We had plenty of company in other extremely excited toddler & preschool boys, and their very patient parents and grandparents...we spent at least 45 minutes circling the display. I've resolved that we should take a train ride with them sooner rather than later...
