Thak and Ni-nah get new red shoes

When the boys were born, we received so many adorable tiny items of clothing from our sweet clients. These little red leather slippers were a gift from a client who vacationed in Spain -- apparently, all the toddlers in Barcelona were sporting these racy little numbers. At the time, they seemed gigantic, like they would never actually fit onto the boys' tiny little hamster feet...

Well, the time has come that the slippers do fit, and this morning the boys were keen to try them on. They danced and giggled and ran circles in the kitchen, enjoying the clap of leather soles on linoleum. There was also some Swiffering fun. Sorry these pics are a tad blurry & out of focus: consider it a taste of my reality, as all of this happened within the first 15 minutes of waking up after a semi-sleepless and very restless night. The babies don't remember their long bouts of fussiness, but Mama is in desperate need of that all-important first cup of coffee.

Thak and Ni-nah are how they say each other's names:

Thak! THAK!!! (Aidan is very emphatic when he speaks)

Ni-nah? Ni-nah? (Jack's rising inflection turns every word into a question)
