Jack may not yet be able to crawl (or even interested in rolling over), but he is very busy with his art. He's always looking for a glob of food to hit the highchair tray, and when it does, he's ready to paint. He carefully covers most of the tray, and often goes back over a spot with his fingers spread, for maximum coverage. Here I gave him a chance after lunch to take a big handful of vegetables and cereal right out of the bowl -- he was so happy and went right to work! He looks pleased with his creation (top pic). On occasion, he will slowly lean forward to give the tray a lick, then straighten up and paint/smear over the spot again...it's the most interesting thing to watch.
