At the meadow

About a 5-minute walk from us is Cabrini Green Urban Meadow, a nice little spot of green for relaxing and enjoying nature in Brooklyn. Just grass, wildflowers, trees and the occasional family going barefoot (one of the few spots it's safe to go without shoes around here). We recently joined, which gives us a key to the space and permission to host little barbecues & picnics there (no dogs allowed, but that's okay...keeps it poo-free for little feet to run around on the grass). Here are some photos of our recent visit to the meadow on the one & only dry day for the past several weeks -- it's been so rainy lately, it's like living in Seattle. But without the great coffee. These pics are a little blurry: I had to snap away when I could, in between Aidan obsessively stealing his brother's hat and Jack doing his persistent best to squish his little fingers in a small patch of mud (the object of his concentration in the big pic).
