A walk in the rain

After school one day, we stopped at the Mongaup Valley wildlife management area, winter home of bald eagles.  No eagle sightings this rainy October day, but it was still beautiful to look across the water.  We've had so much rain lately, it's been soggy, foggy and humid for almost two weeks straight...might as well still try to enjoy ourselves outside.

The "Restricted" sign on the trail gate actually warns people that the area is closed from December through May for eagle nesting purposes.  They take their eagles very seriously up here.  We plan to watch the nests from the nearby eagle blind in January...
