Counting down the days until Aidan's MRI, and this time we won't have to reschedule because of illness: the boys have had no human contact other than us for days & days! No playdates, no library, no going anywhere fun that might be germ-y. We kept busy in the snow; inside with a sand/gravel tub; pretend play with construction stuff; "slicing" tiny pizzas that instill the concept of fractions years before they encounter them in math class. We've done alphabet and animal and color puzzles, and watched many fine puppet shows consisting mostly of Aidan (very, very seriously) sticking one puppeted hand out of the curtain to stare at the "audience". We've begun counting fingers to 5 (and suddenly Jack can count to 10...how did that happen?), sang and danced and been silly, and built with blocks and kicked balls and made pretend houses for pretend guinea pigs...it's been a long week of isolation, but the procedure is only 2 days away, and Aidan has not the slightest trace of a cold. We'll be glad when it's all over...
